MEDICAL SUPPLIES FOR SRI LANKA INITIATIVE

In 2022, Sri Lanka is facing its worst economic crisis since its independence.

Many medical facilities are struggling to gain access to basic medical equipment and medicines to provide safe medical services to its population. The situation is alarming and scary to many. Hospitals and medical clinics are short of lifesaving medications and medical equipment. Medical professionals in Sri Lanka have reached out to friends and colleagues overseas urgently asking for assistance - to improve the accessibility to essential healthcare resources.

Advocate International is aware of the gravity of the situation and as a result we have created the MEDICAL SUPPLIES FOR SRI LANKA INITIATIVE.

The initiative’s aim is to bridge the gap and improve access to vital medicines and medical supplies.

The needs have been communicated to us through health professionals working in various settings from hospitals to clinics within Sri Lanka. Medical supplies will be provided to these services via the following means:

  • Directly liaising with medical supply companies to dispatch medicines and equipment to hospitals

  • Where there is a lack of equipment that can be sourced in the country, volunteers will take supplies from Australia and directly donate these to the hospitals and health services which are requiring them

Medical supplied needed, includes but not limited to are:

Antibiotics, Diabetic medications, Catheters, Pathology equipments, Chemotherapy, Surgical instruments

So far our Initiative has raised a total of $14 435!!!!!
